                                                    Lionbridge Federal in Washington, DC

Lionbridge is an international company that works with several large government contracts as well as commercial clients. Our two largest contracts are with the Department of Justice and the Department of Homeland Security. We recruit linguists to do on-site or telephonic interpretations for court assignments.

Freelance interpreters are contracted part-time for need-based assignments. We don't guarantee assignments until the interpreter has passed his/her Lionbridge Language Assessment and has cleared from a basic background check. The preliminary requirements for all Lionbridge interpreters are:

-US citizen or Permanent Resident (green card holder)

-Lived in the US for 3 of the past 5 years

-One year of legal interpretation experience

Freelance interpreters take a brief over the phone language assessment for approximately 40 minutes. The assessment will test the interpreter's ability to interpret from the target language to English. Assessments are scheduled to be taken over the phone Monday thru Friday. Our pay rates vary depending on experience.

If this is something that interests you, please send me a copy of your resume and any certificates you may have. I look forward to hearing from you.
